Kanpi

Kanpi is in South Australia and is located about 20 km south of the Northern Territory border at the base of the Mann Ranges and approximately 460km south west from Alice Springs. The nearby town of Nyapari is 15 km to the east. Amata and Pipalyatjara are approximately 100km away from Kanpi. According to ABS Census (2021), there are 56 people residing in Kanpi and speak Pitjantjatjara language. Because both Kanpi and nearby Nyapari are small communities, there are only basic services which are shared between the two towns. Murputja Education Centre was built between the two communities, 9 km east of Kanpi and 6 km west of Nyapari.
