Our Work:
WHAT?
The NPY Emerging Leaders Program was developed in 2018 to build a pathway for Anangu aged 25-40 years into leadership and governance roles in communities, councils and organisations in the region and beyond.
WHY?
The NPY Emerging Leaders Program was developed in response to widespread advocacy from Anangu for a locally relevant program to support leadership development and succession planning among the next generation of leaders. We believe that by building the confidence, skills and solidarity amongst young leaders, the Program will increase the number of Anangu in leadership roles and contribute to increased Anangu-led decision-making and empowerment in the region.
HOW?
The annual program involves four workshops over 12 months, applied project work for hands-on learning, and the development of individual leadership plans. Graduates provide mentoring to successive groups and a Working Group of senior and emerging leaders gives oversight to the program. The content and delivery of the program has been co-designed with regional emerging leaders specifically to local conditions and needs.
